Sewing

The last two days have been nothing but curtains. I forgot that I hate sewing curtains but I am pretty happy with them.

And I also made this pillow - with a zipper. That was kind of hard.

Yay for new house stuff!

ode to max factor mascara

It isn't really an ode as much as a lament. I can't find another mascara that doesn't flake or smudge. That goes on thick but washes off easily. And definitely not any that you can wear an entire day, through the night and then well into the next day because you woke up too late to shower and still get your child to school on time. Oh max factor - why did you stop making your magic mascara???

Has anyone found a new mascara that they love? I am sick of buying one crappy mascara after another.

Faux Anthropologie duvet cover

I have loved this duvet cover forever. Now I could even make it in a color if I wanted - tutorial here.

Matt's Bday

It is going to be this cute little boys 1st birthday soon. He is going to have a Very Hungry Caterpillar birthday party while we are in El Paso so we thought we'd contribute to the decorations.
The nice part about the Caterpillar is that he's not perfect. The eyes aren't perfectly round or symmetrical. It made it a lot easier.

I've never made a banner before and there are a bunch of things I'd do differently next time, but I think it turned out pretty cute.

Easter, Easter, Time is Here!

I made these cute little Easter Buckets to give to the sisters I VT
and here are the new bunnies I made this year except Victoria's.
The Pink one is for me! Finally I even have a Bunny!

Quilts

Here are a couple of tops I haven't finished yet- and probably won't for a while so I figured I'd go ahead and post them.

The boys bags

In the colors they chose - Ian's is supposed to be a Sounders bag so I need to find a patch to sew on the front (but I did the soccer ball with my machine). If I haven't called you lately - now you know why. Once one is done the other is begging for theirs as well...
Since Ian's was third of these bags that I made, I did incorporate several changes to the pattern - like rounding the corners and using interfacing so it is more stable - so if you are going to make it let me know and I will tell you some tips.
BTW - check out the post today on Our Best Bites for lettuce wraps - they look delish!

Sprocket Pillow

I started a t-shirt quilt for Hank last week but needed a quick break. These pillows are cute and super easy. Park begged me for this one, squealed when it was done, then immediately took it to her room for... her stuffed dogs to sleep on. I can't win.
