Sour Cream Peach Pie

I never thought i was a baker until all this luscious fall fruit made me want to start making it in to delicious desserts. I think this might be the second pie I have ever made in my life but it was so worth it. I found it on my friend Ginger's blog - along with a post on letting kids help in the kitchen, which I have taken to heart and haven't regretted for a second.

Sour Cream Peach Pie

1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. maple syrup
pinch salt
3 T flour
½ cup sour cream
5-6 peeled sliced peaches
½ t. cinnamon
double pie crust

Put peaches in pie shell. Mix together the other ingredients and pour over peaches. Make a lattice crust and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Bake at 425 degrees for 40 minutes.

P.S. did everyone already get this coupon for $1 off the Martha Stewart Halloween Handbook? Too late for me.

Boo!

I've already started decorating for Halloween. Bought these wooden letters from JoAnn's yesterday and modpodge'd with some Halloween paper I bought last year. Cute, huh?

And here's a banner I did for our bedroom (a Bjork song). Idea from here.

New Stroller

These are the alien cupcakes I made for the fundraiser lunch at SOI the other day. The Marines thought they were funny.
Here's our new stroller (thank you Grandpa and Grandma Nesbitt!!!). Parker couldn't wait to hop in, and immediately wanted to take a ride (regardless of the fact that she doesn't have a sister to ride with yet). I kinda can't believe I own a double stroller- yikes.
Holy moly it's big, but it maneuvers easily, and I am reallyhappy with it.

Patchwork pups

While Grandma was here she bought a kit to make a cute puppy blanket for Park.

The fabric was all together, but still needed to be cut. It had a piece of orange satin that we replaced with the orange stripe material. The instructions didn't say to put batting in, nor bind it (they just wanted you to sew the edges together), but I went ahead and did both. I also quilted the outside material and tied the part in the middle.
